Wedding Hair preparation Time line
6–12 Months
Building sustainable hair health in the months coming up to your wedding is a vital part of preparing your hair for your wedding day.
I can help, giving you tips and tricks and a thorough hair consultation to give your hair the TLC it needs.
• Trim split ends every 8–12 weeks with a light dusting on the ends to keep hair healthy.
• Is your scalp flakey and dry? Scalp health and hydration is the key for this. Natural scalp oils once a week before shampooing can help to keep your scalp moisturised and avoid flaking. Avoid doing this a couple weeks before the wedding to reduce too much oil build up.
• Reduce excessive heat styling if possible, make sure you are using heat protector before using any heat.
• Start a consistent routine:
- Shampoo x2 + conditioner suited to your hair type. I recommend Pureology or Kerastase which are both professional and prescriptive for specific hair needs.
- Weekly hair mask is essential for reconstructing the cutical and the hair strength. This will give softness and smooth frizz.
If you want major changes to your hair prior to your wedding, do these things early:
• Growing out bangs
• Going lighter/darker
• Hair extension consultations
• Transitioning from damaged hair
Inspiration phase
Create a folder/Pinterest board with the following
• Front + back views
• Hair similar to your texture, length and colour
• Styles that suit your dress neckline and veil

Hair prep the day before
Bridal styles hold best on hair washed clean hair the day before.
Why your hair is better washed before
- Natural movement at its best once washed. The clean strands of hair give more volume and shine, giving you weightless flowing waves, avoiding stiffness or heaviness.
- Prevents heavy oil buildup
- Absorbs products easier ensuring they work to the best of their ability.
Wedding Morning
